Even in this fast-paced world, we seem to be able to the find time to slow down the tempo of our daily chores.
Everyone likes leisure time—a time for recreation and unrestricted time out of your obligatory activities, and a time to go to amusement places and parks.
It is no wonder then that a lot of pet owners spend their free time for ease and relaxation at the park.
Sonia Siwa’s favorite place to play and train her two German Shepherds, Pika and Quipua, is the American Memorial Park.
For 15 solid years, that has been her commitment to bring her pets, some who had already passed away, to the park every afternoon.
“I really enjoy playing with my pets. I treat them like my children,” she smiled.
Her pets, she said, also had the chance to meet “Girlie”, “Max”, “Spider”, “Joy”, “Broco”, “Dirk”, “Cream” and “Kycho” at the park.
Like their owners, pets also find the park a beautiful meeting place to make friends, to play, to fool around and have fun.
Pet owner Satoko Jogima said she always brings, “Cream”, a Golden Retriever, to the park everyday.
“My pet makes friends with other pets, like me,” said Jogima, who introduced her friend, Sine Watanabi, another pet owner.
Watanabi, who owns “Kycho”, said he likes the park to play with other pets. “We just walk, play and enjoy the time.”
“Dirk”, the bonnie dog, enjoyed playing with Pika, Quipua, Cream and Kycho in the “throwing ball” game.
His master said that Dirk only visits the park twice a week but “My pet enjoys so much meeting with other dogs.”
On weekdays and weekends, it is nice to see pet owners meet, not only to strengthen their friendships, their acquaintances and advance their leisure pursuit but also to witness their ties within themselves that transcend through their pets.
